Job Title: Cloud Systems Administrator

Department: Development

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Location: Reading, Berkshire, UK

Type (Full/Part time): Permanent Full Time

Job Context: Work as part of the platform engineering team to maintain and support cloud platforms suitable for a global SaaS business. Work closely with Lead Platform Engineer, architect group, and internal IT team as appropriate.


    Maintain, implement and support cloud platform solutions

    Configure monitoring, and logging tools (New Relic, Site24/7

    Ensure documentation is accurate and regularly updated

    Respond to system failures and ensure corrective action is taken

    Take part in core maintenance activities including:

  • Cloud Platform
  • Application
  • Database
  • Logging

     Configure and monitor backups

     Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery exercises, as well as being part of the BC & DR response team

     Continually identify areas for improvement in all areas of Autino’s IT infrastructure, tooling, and practices

     Support and mentor junior staff as appropriate

     Lead junior staff by exemplifying best practice and ownership of work

     May have formal responsibility for leading a team of junior staff if agreed

Essential Skills:

  • Cloud engineering / operations
  • Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, SSL certificates, firewalls, load balancers, routers)
  • Virtualisation technology
  • Windows Server
  • Microsoft SQL Server, Redis
  • Ability to problem solve and think logically
  • Attention to detail, and ability to manage workload
  • Good focus on live systems and change management
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to self-teach new technologies and skills


Desirable Skills:

  • ITIL, Scrum, Lean, Kanban, ISO27001, PCI DSS or similar
  • Any Docker, Kubernetes or similar container tech desirable
  • Linux OS Support
  • Data centre, cloud systems (Azure) and supporting 3rd party products


  • 3-4 years experience in a similar role
